While some dentists require payment at the time of service, other dentists allow patients to walk out without
paying right away. While the "send me a bill" route buys time for the patient, it can make life easier for the
dental office too. Dental offices don't always know how much dental insurance will pay. Therefore, it can be efficient
to hold off on collecting payment from the patient until insurance pays its portion.
